Dr Natasha Hurley-Walker uses novel radio telescopes to explore the Universe at some of the longest wavelengths of light. She led GLEAM, the first “radio color” survey, revealing the radio glow of our own Milky Way galaxy, hundreds of thousands of distant galaxies, and ancient stellar explosions. She recently discovered a new kind of repeating radio source unlike anything astronomers have seen before. She shares her work with the world with apps and online viewers, and has given and curated popular TED talks. She is a WA Tall Poppies Scientist of the Year (2017), a ABC Top 5 Scientist (2018) a Superstar of STEM (2019), and the winner of the Anne Green Prize for a Mid-Career Astronomer (2022).
