Leaving her family in her small Bhutanese hometown, adjusting to a foreign culture, life in the city, and studying a technical degree in a foreign language are just some of the challenges Rinchen faced when she decided to pursue her dreams. Diligently applying feedback from her tutors and mentors to improve her English and technical skills, Rinchen not only achieved her goal of a bachelor’s degree in internetworking, but is now completing her Masters of Cyber Security.
Teachers and colleagues have praised her proactive leadership skills. Currently serving on the ACS Young IT committee, she inspires and encourages others to join her in community volunteering and mentoring activities.
