Dr Adelle Goodwin is an astrophysicist at ICRAR, Curtin University. When you look up at the night sky there are billions of stars twinkling, but, what happens when these stars die? Adelle’s research looks at the objects we don’t see: the dense remnants of dead stars called black holes and neutron stars.
Adelle holds a PhD in Astrophysics from Monash University (2021) and a Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours) from Monash University (2016). For her PhD thesis she was awarded the Astronomical Society of Australia’s prize for the most outstanding PhD thesis submitted in Australia for 2021 and the Royal Society of Victoria’s young scientist research prize. Additionally, she is a Science and Technology Australia Superstar of STEM.
