With her past education, work experience and passion for IT Security, Jean had a dream of offering Cyber Security courses within the VET system. This led to her creation of two VET courses in Cyber Security for South Metropolitan TAFE, as well as a unique Certificate III for use with VET in schools, providing an opportunity for high school aged students to experience, learn and become passionate about a future in Cyber Security. Jean is currently completing further study in in the field of adult education to enhance her learning environment, ensure it is culturally inclusive and acknowledges the diverse needs of learners. She has facilitated several projects with the aim of allowing her students to graduate with a portfolio of work and references providing them with a competitive advantage when seeking employment. These include; formation of teams for the CySCA 2018 challenge, encouraging a women’s team to support the #womenincyber theme of CySCA 2018 and developing Industry Integrated Projects that provide authentic learning tasks for students through their project management units.
