Passionate about providing students with opportunities to experience problem-solving in real-world contexts, Kathleen believes STEM education to be a vehicle that can provide students with valuable experiences. Having previously worked in industry as an engineer, she understands the value of soft-skills in the workplace and aims to develop these skills in her students whilst helping them to develop their technical expertise in designing solutions to various problems. She aims to highlight the cross-curricular nature of STEM to students and works with other teachers to develop relevant teaching materials to achieve this. Kathleen also values the experience industry can deliver to schools and actively seeks opportunities to engage mentors with students in the STEM competitions run at her school.
