Mia Walker grew up in Geraldton, Western Australia, and still identifies as a country bumpkin. Armed with good grades and a slapdash aspiration to work in the space industry, she moved to the big smoke (Perth) and completed a double degree in Physics and Electronics and Communications Engineering at Curtin University. She now works in radio astronomy, supporting the operations and management of a precursor instrument to the international SKA project. When she’s not at work pretending she’s Sam Carter from Stargate, Mia dabbles in art and writing, and watches reruns of Red Dwarf.
