Taylor is a marine biologist working towards conservation of oceanic reefs worldwide. Her work in research kicked off when she started a 10 year ocean plastics monitoring project at age 11, and she hasn’t looked back.
Taylor’s professional career began in California where she worked as a scientific diver on temperate reefs monitoring kelp forests, studying seagrass, and restocking depleted fisheries. Upon moving to Australia, Taylor began monitoring coral reefs around Australia, many of which have died due to climate change. She has a passion for educating students and the public alike on the status of our coral reefs, which cover 1% of the seafloor, but are home to 25% of the marine organisms in our ocean.
